I'm a Slacker

So I have had this announcement of Beckham's birth forever and just haven't printed and sent them out, and who knows how long long will be. I still feel like we are adjusting perhaps that could be partly due to the fact that since he was born we haven't been home for more than a 2 week time period. Anyways I thought I would post it because who knows when I will actually get them printed and mailed out...gosh I am still working on Thank you cards so it might be a long while! Does anyone even keep these things or do most people just think "oh cute" and then throw them in the trash?

Summer Ends...

Summer ends for us tommorow (sniffle sniffle). It was fun but busy which made it go by way to fast. We welcomed Beckham to the world, finished our first year of law school, Chris did more school and an internship and Kaden well he does what any two year old does play play play! We were lucky to be able to get away for a couple weeks to visit both of our families and we did a lot with them and had a lot of fun. We are grateful and so lucky to come from such wonderful families. I have been a horrible blogger this summer so here is a little highlight of what we did...

My mom, sister and I at the Temple open house

Our little family. I was impressed by how much Kaden really took in from this visit to the open house he kept telling me all week...mom going to the Temple. It is amazing at how impressionable (is that a word or did I make that up!?) they are at this age.
Visiting grandma and grandpa's beach house and playing at the Oregon coast. Kaden love to find things to swing on as seen below...He has no clothes on because he fell in a tide pool while chasing birds and not watching where he was running (suprise suprise!)

Beckham at the beach...this was the extent of his beach trip...looks exciting right!?

Here is to wishing everyday could be spent relaxing at the beach...

Playing, playing, playing...

A day at the fair. I didn't think Kaden would do the rides boy was I wrong we spent hours doing the rides. I just wanted to go because they have the best peach milk shakes in the whole wide world Kaden had a different agenda. I was sick after all the twirly and spinning rides I was glad when there was a ride they wouldn't let me go on!

Kaden would only get so close to the animals. I think this is the closest we got. He likes to look but only from a distance.

Future BYU Quarterback...

Doesn't this look like the making of the next BYU Quarterback...that's what I thought!

I think he even has the face down...

Although Beckham might be in the running also gaining a pound a week and not even six weeks and has doubled his birth weight (at this rate he may be big enough to be an offensive linebacker). You should see the rolls and dimples on this kid I want to post pictures but I am having a hard time typing with one hand let alone taking and uploading pictures one handed. Maybe if he eventually lets me put him down I will once again take pictures of him and post them.

Getting bigger...

I can't believe how fast they grow. This little guy has gained a pound a week...wow! We have had a lot of requests for more pictures of Beckham. And although it is naptime and I too should be sleeping I couldn't resist! Enjoy!

Our days lately...

Our days lately seem like they should be nights and our nights seem like they should be days. I had forgotten that miserable period of trying to get a newborn on a good nightly schedule and how that changes day to day (add a toddler to the mix and it is even more miserable)! He is sure cute though so you can't get too upset when he is wide awake at 3-4 in the morning just wanting to be held and loved. I am sure though that Kaden is wondering why his mom is falling asleep with whatever quiet time she can find and doesn't have the energy for coloring, trucks, trains and horsie rides all day long!

The 3 R's

So lately I am all about the 3 R's...I wish those R's were only two R's and I could say we were getting lots of rest and relaxation however that is not so. I mean the reduce (not with diapers of course), reuse and recycle. My husband likes to recycle but laughs at what I try to reuse. Take this shirt that Chris is wearing in the next picture for example. Love the shirt, one day however it got some cleaning solution and a few small bleach spots on it. Chris won't wear anything that has a slight flaw, hole, scratch ect. He was going to throw out this perfectly nice looking shirt (that was NOT a steal of a deal from Nordstrom!)
He laughed when I said how about I make it into another shirt. One for Kaden and if we have a girl I will make a dress with the fabric on top and black on the bottom and if we have a boy they can have matching shirts. Chris LAUGHED again (I am the queen of unfinished projects but it is a nice thought right?) And when I looked at Nordstrom the toddler Ben Sherman shirts they were like 40-50 dollars so I can have a homeade one for free! So last night I finally sewed the pocket on Kaden's shirt I felt a little overwhelmed by this project with no pattern and all. We will see if in all my free time I get Beckham's done while he is small enough to wear it...? The idea of making two shirts was maybe a bit ambitious but one is better than none right!?

Not totally professional but Kaden looks cute in it and it was going to be sitting in a dump or DI somewhere so I am glad we got a little more life out of the shirt!

Snips & Snails & puppy dog tails...

I love my little boys. I am suprised at how much Beckham ressembles Kaden when he was a baby. This week has been a lot of fun. Kaden is much more attentive and aware of Beckham than I thought he would be. He is ALWAYS wanting to kiss, hold and rock his little brother which is cute but also a little nerve racking. We have had a wonderful time with both the grandma's I am sure Kaden is going to have a rough time adjusting to a normal bedtime, not having a hotdog and chocolate milk at every meal and having a constant play mate. He has had a great time and I can tell he loves when the grandma's come to play. Thanks mom and Marianne for making these past couple weeks so special for us. We have had such a great time and it has been nice to be able to rest and get ready for the long tiring weeks ahead.
