pumpkins, pumpkins, pumpkins...

We picked out Kaden's pumpkin yesterday. We decided just to do the grocery store thing, after taking off last weekend to do nothing but play Chris had some catching up to do. We will have to do the whole fram thing next year. Kaden did have his choice of many pumpkins and just thought it was fun to be able to climb and crawl all over them. He finally picked one it is a little round one. It should be interesting to see how the carving goes. He is at the age where he wants to be involved but it is nothing but chaos when we do things like this...

Grandma and Grandpa's...

We had a great time visiting Portland/Washington to visit Grandma and Grandpa. We always have so much fun with them. We went out to see the progress on the beach house it is coming along...almost done yeah! It is going to be beautiful and a great place to visit, especially in the summer when it is nice and warm. It was a clear day so you could see all the way up the coast line it was so pretty! It was a little bit breezy and cool which I think is how the beach usually is!

Kaden and I stayed a little longer to see Mason and Alyssa and the cousins. Chase, Callie and Kaden were cute together. Chase loved having Kaden chase him around. They all had fun dancing together it was pretty entertaining to watch their little dance party!

These two are less than a month apart it is fun to see them grow up together...

Always an adventure...

You never know what you will get with Kaden at mealtimes. Some days he asks for seconds and even thirds. And then some days he won't touch what I give him. I can never get him to eat eggs but I can always trust on the good old hot dogs and chicken nuggets (gross...why do kids love these foods?) Regardless it is always a mess and usually he gets two or three baths depending on the amount of food in his hair or stuck on his face.

Then the other day I was cleaning up the kitchen and he was eating and I found this we had to get pictures...

It is always fun & exciting though!

The dentist...

Kaden did much better than I thought he would at his first dentist appointment. This office was great they were so good with Kaden. I have a hard time keeping Kaden in one spot unless he is eating & obviously that wouldn't work well at the dentist. He did so good, he sat still and we got the appointment over quick and easy. The pictures I got at the dentist for his baby book are funny. They gave him a big tooth brush to play with he must have thought it was a hair brush because he kept brushing his hair with it...hey it was to big for his mouth worked better for his hair.

leaves, leaves & more leaves...

I love the crispness in the air right now. Chris & I have been making apple cider and warm homemade meals it is fun, & then during the day when it is warm Kaden and I go play outside. Today we went on a walk and Kaden discovered leaves he was jumping, yelling and throwing leaves everywhere. The pictures don't do it justice, but he more than enjoyed being able to explore and run all over!!!

Go Taylor...

It was fun to go and watch Tay play. She came into town with her team and was playing at a school that was just 2 blocks from our home. We went down to watch her & she is really good. Kaden was mesmerized he just sat and watched the ball go back & forth. It was fun & she had the winning point in the game we watched...go Tay!!! She is number 9 right up to the net!

Shaggy boy...

So when my mom came into town we didn't have time to cut Kaden's hair. That and without a salon chair and a lot of room it is a difficult feat. Everyday though he looked shaggy and his hair was always a mess as you could see from all the past posts. Today I finally decided to do something about it. I cut it myself!!! I guess I could have waited till Thanksgiving but it was driving me crazy! Here is the before...

and the after...

I love the little mohawk it is finally short enough I can do it again without him looking like a peacock. We can also do the little boy combover for church. Chris thought I should just buzz it but I don't he would look cute with a buzz, he has such great hair! He wouldn't smile in any of these pictures for me. I think he was mad because I did the haircut by myself which takes a little more time and patience from him. He could barely hold still long enough to have his hair cut let alone have mom taking pictures. He was a good sport though!

love fall...

I love the chill in the air and the beauty of the fall. We decided as moms to get outdoors and enjoy the beautiful fall weather. We hiked trails up & around a nearby lake. Despite the signs about bears being sited it was a enjoyable outing. Kaden got to run around with friends & after all his fun running and collecting sticks he was worn out. That gave me time to start the fourth vampire book yeah! He fell asleep on the way to the grocery store so I got a couple hours to read even if it was sitting in my car at the grocery store!

My family...

I have a great family they came to visit us this past weekend and we had all sorts of fun. We did the things that my family always do went to the lake (that's a biggie in my family), haircuts (also a monthly occurence at my house) & shopping (probably hits top of the list). It was fun for Kaden to get to see his grandparents. Grandma and Grandpa got Kaden his first train set. He loves it mostly he takes it apart and tries to put it back together but I love when he pushes the train around the track saying "weeeeee". Kaden got to show off and show all his animal sounds and new words and new tricks my sister Allyson was annoyed she kept saying "he's not a Dog" maybe one day she will see how much fun it is when your little one is learning and can do new things...so fun!!!

This was before Chris' haircut...the waiter at Chilli's joked about him looking hispanic. I had to laugh he didn't trust me with the scissors. I may not be awesome in the hair cutting department but anything would have looked better than what he had. It now looks awesome again my mom is pretty good with the scissors!

just passing time...

I haven't been the best blogger. I have found that the weather has been getting colder which I think sometimes depresses me. I hate being stuck inside all day with no projects or things going on. I decided I was going to teach myself how to digital scrapbook. I had no idea what I was doing when I started but it has gone pretty well. Since I was new to this I was wondering what other do to find cute papers or downloads. I found shabbyprincess through a friend and they have cute things but it would be fun to have a few different sites to choose from. Here are a few of the pages I have done so far! It is really fun!

Tagged

Well Alyssa tagged me and I am supposed to write six quarky things about myself and pass this along to other friends. I know I am quarky but it has been a challenge to think of six things...I will give this my best attempt thought.

1-I have to have my closet color coordinated. I do this by first the tanks/camis, then the short sleeves, then the long sleeves and then the jackets it drives me crazy if things are put away and they do not get in the right color section.

2- I absolutely can not stand having wet hair on the back of my neck it drives me crazy, especially if it has chlorine or salt in it. I try not to get my hair wet in the pool, but even if I have just gotten out of a lake or shower I have to immediately put it up in a towel or but a towel around my shoulders. It makes me all grossed out even thinking about it right now augh!

3- I hoard gift cards. Most people when they get a gift card are excited to go use it, not me I guess I am excited to put it in a stash and save if for a rainy day. I save them so long that sometimes they expire or I end up having crazy balances at some places. I did get on gift card from a friend once that I couldn't wait to use that was my pregnancy massage from Tatia (which by the way was the most wonderful gift I would encourage any pregnant bloggers out there to treat themselves to one it was fabulous!!!)

4-Like Alyssa I return about 90% of the things that I buy. I have to get it home try it on with different outfits wear it around the house make sure if I like the fit and if it's comfortable. Items usually sit in my closet for quite some time before I decide. This is why I love to shop at Nordies they will return anything no matter how long it has sat in my closet.

5-I am a huge creature of habit and I have to have a plan all of the time. When the plan doesn't go as planned I find myself totally stressed out. I mean when I have a plan I have a plan and it is usually a ten year plan. So much so that my mom laughed when I told her I was getting a new job and I was going to work every other weekend and I had gone through the calendar and looked at what holidays and special events fell on which weekends and then chose to work the everyother weekend according to which had less holidays and events. Then when my brother decided to get MARRIED on the holiday weekend which I choose to work it messed up my whole plan and I was totally stressed out.

6-Most other girls can't live without all of there stuff right there in their purse at hand so they are prepared for whatever comes their way. I like to be prepared (goes with the planning), and I love to buy and have purses but I hate to carry one. I just feel like it is one more extra thing that I have to watch and carry and be responsible for (it is like having another child). So more often than not I leave it at home. I just pack my pockets full of whatever I need or rely on Chris to have everything I might need (therefore the reason so many people find it hard to reach me on my cell phone).

I am sure there are more but those are just the ones I could come up with right now. I am going to tag (I don't know how to make a link so I will fix this when I can figure out how).
