Our little visitor...

Chris found this outside our house last night. Kaden was already asleep so Chris made a cage so Kaden could see it in the morning. Needless to say this little frog is all he talked about all day. We let it go in the grass this morning and he has been looking all over for it...

Happy father's day...

We wanted to wish all our special dad's a happy father's day. I know this post is a day late things at our house have been a little crazy...we are however very grateful for all of our dads! Kaden is very lucky to have such a great dad. We tried to let dad sleep in yesterday and make him breakfast my helper however was not very helpful he couldn't wait to see his dad. He kept running in the room looking for dad. So dad got to sleep in till 6:50, better than most days but still not a very good sleep in. Kaden just loves to play and wrestle with his dad he asks me all day long, "daddy home?". And when he does get home he yells from the balcony, "daddy, daddy chris" Chris hates when he calls him Chris. We also are grateful for our Grandpa's we feel very lucky to have such special guys in our lives...we love you dads!

Almost there...

So this past week has been stressful for us! My dad was diagnosed with cancer and had surgery last night. With all that has been going on and how stressed I have been I am suprised that I am still pregnant. Last night I was having a lot of contractions. I have mixed feelings I am so ready to be done with being pregnant however Chris has a final the day before my induction and my dad will be in the hospital for at least a week. My mom and Ally are planning on coming up the day before my induction so it would be fun and exciting to have family here, but I don't want them to leave my dad if still isn't feeling well. I guess though it is out of my control and he (still no name) will come when he comes.

A special day!

Chris started off Kaden's special day by making him these...what a great dad!
We decided since we knew it was going to be a busy day and since Chris gets home a little bit later in the evening that we would do Kaden's birthday presents in the morning. We left out the big items unwrapped and it was like Christmas morning. It was literally hard to get Kaden to do anything but play with his new toys. It was so cute to see him say, "oh yeah" and the joy in his face over his new toys...it made me really excited to see him get so excited.

Making sure it's a straight shot...it is hole in one, yeah!!!

Too impatient for mom to take the helmet out of the package...see ya mom I put on my own helmet and I am ready to go.

I am glad we didn't wrap everything...he tore the paper of meticulously piece by piece.

Concentrating on this drill press...this is one of the coolest toys Kaden has I would totally recommend it. It has a moving drill press and table saw, places to screw things into the table, boards that are velcrod together to saw apart and it comes with a little bird house project. It is black and decker and I think Chris has had hours of fun with this along with Kaden.

Whenever I would ask Kaden what he wanted for his birthday he would always tell me balloons...if only it could be this easy forever (and of course we have to go all out anyway, when balloons probably would have sufficed). Had to get a picture with the balloons...
Cruisin on my new wheels...well kind of, how about getting pushed around on my new wheels!?

That is the face of some serious concentration...maybe next time we can take off the training wheels?
Blowing out the candles and making a wish...by the end of the day he was walking around singing the birthday song to everyone it was so cute! I don't think he could even say birthday until today.
I know he is thinking now I can finally get my hands on this cake! All day of hard work slaving away in the kitchen making this cake (okay exaggeration...looks more time consuming than it really was) and in seconds it is destroyed! It actually tasted okay for being fondant and was really super easy...

Like this picture? I know he is thinking that is my cake keep your paws off of it!

We had a fun time...looks like Kaden's friends did too! Thank you everyone for making this birthday so special for Kaden. We love this little boy so much and are so grateful that he is part of our family. We would be seriously bored without this spunky happy and very active child in our lives!I think I had as much fun on Kaden's birthday as he did!

Before it's destroyed...

I can't believe my little boy is turning 2 tommorow...it has gone by too fast. I just know that this cake will probably be pulled off the counter or destroyed somehow before we get candles on it so I decided I better take pictures tonight if I wanted some. I have been gaurding this cake all day! Kaden has cried all day because he wants some cake and he walks around the house looking for the "big cake" I have had to hide it from him! We decided he loves everything disney lately, but also likes basket and baseballs I finally picked a mickey cake! It was a good choice because he loves it!!!

That will never happen to us...

So you know those horror stories that you hear about how people's kids get injured and think to yourself oh that will never happen to us. Today I was in my closet putting clothes away and I hear a weird but loud thud and then a blood curling scream from Kaden that I had never heard before. Mind you this is my child that runs head on into walls or falls on the cement doing a face plant and gets up without crying. I knew that this scream meant that something was terribly wrong. I walked around the corner to the room and see that he has tipped his tall and very heavy dresser over onto himself while aparently trying to climb to get a toy off the top. My heart pounded as I thought do we have broken ribs, legs, punctured lungs, internal bleeding all those horrible things a mother thinks. I was slightly (only slightly) relieved to see that the top corner of one of the sides of the dresser was stopped and held up by the otomon to his rocking chair. So I was able to lift it off him and look him over good although being really startled and scared he only had scratches on his legs. I am so grateful for that otomon and probably some divine intervention and the adrenaline I had to lift the very heavy dresser (nine months pregnant) and resuce my trapped child. What a relief! It has had me thinking today how incredibly grateful I am to be Kaden's mom and what would I do if something ever happened to him? All day long Kaden has told me "mom so scary" and points to the dresser. Chris came home this afternoon and the first thing we did was bolt the dresser to the wall and although it looks hideous it is reassuring to know that he is safe. It was one of those things that I never thought would EVER happen! Scary!

Baby shower...

I just feel so grateful for such good friends and family. When we had to move for law school I was sad and worried to be leaving all my friends behind. I am so grateful though to have moved where there are so many cute talented girls that are outgoing and fun! I was sad to see all the 3rd year law students leave but hopefully we will have some new fun 1L's. My sister in law and some other friends threw a baby shower today and it was so fun and there were so many cute and very yummy things that everyone made. THANK YOU, THANK YOU it really means a lot and I appreciate it.
My friend Jessica makes these boquets and they are adorable. The even better thing is they taste so yummy I wasn't going to eat mine because I thought it was so cute but a cookie broke off and you can't help but eat them all, usually when I have had these they are cute to look at but not great to eat! They also made these yummy filled cupcakes, awesome individual cheese cakes and oreo truffles....YUM!!!
So for all those asking here I am pregnant as can be...I hate looking at pictures from when you are nine months prego...

I wish I would have thought to get a picture when everyone was here but I forgot but thanks so much everyone it was a lot of fun. We need to make up more excuses to get together!!!
