That will never happen to us...

So you know those horror stories that you hear about how people's kids get injured and think to yourself oh that will never happen to us. Today I was in my closet putting clothes away and I hear a weird but loud thud and then a blood curling scream from Kaden that I had never heard before. Mind you this is my child that runs head on into walls or falls on the cement doing a face plant and gets up without crying. I knew that this scream meant that something was terribly wrong. I walked around the corner to the room and see that he has tipped his tall and very heavy dresser over onto himself while aparently trying to climb to get a toy off the top. My heart pounded as I thought do we have broken ribs, legs, punctured lungs, internal bleeding all those horrible things a mother thinks. I was slightly (only slightly) relieved to see that the top corner of one of the sides of the dresser was stopped and held up by the otomon to his rocking chair. So I was able to lift it off him and look him over good although being really startled and scared he only had scratches on his legs. I am so grateful for that otomon and probably some divine intervention and the adrenaline I had to lift the very heavy dresser (nine months pregnant) and resuce my trapped child. What a relief! It has had me thinking today how incredibly grateful I am to be Kaden's mom and what would I do if something ever happened to him? All day long Kaden has told me "mom so scary" and points to the dresser. Chris came home this afternoon and the first thing we did was bolt the dresser to the wall and although it looks hideous it is reassuring to know that he is safe. It was one of those things that I never thought would EVER happen! Scary!

Baby shower...

I just feel so grateful for such good friends and family. When we had to move for law school I was sad and worried to be leaving all my friends behind. I am so grateful though to have moved where there are so many cute talented girls that are outgoing and fun! I was sad to see all the 3rd year law students leave but hopefully we will have some new fun 1L's. My sister in law and some other friends threw a baby shower today and it was so fun and there were so many cute and very yummy things that everyone made. THANK YOU, THANK YOU it really means a lot and I appreciate it.
My friend Jessica makes these boquets and they are adorable. The even better thing is they taste so yummy I wasn't going to eat mine because I thought it was so cute but a cookie broke off and you can't help but eat them all, usually when I have had these they are cute to look at but not great to eat! They also made these yummy filled cupcakes, awesome individual cheese cakes and oreo truffles....YUM!!!
So for all those asking here I am pregnant as can be...I hate looking at pictures from when you are nine months prego...

I wish I would have thought to get a picture when everyone was here but I forgot but thanks so much everyone it was a lot of fun. We need to make up more excuses to get together!!!

We love our parks...

After such a long cold awful winter I won't complain about the heat! I don't think I would have any way I love it!!! It was still 92 degrees at 5PM tonight so we cooled off at the splash pad. Kaden was freezing cold when we finally made him leave he screamed the whole way home. I hate this phase everytime we leave a friends house, park or something fun he cries the whole way home. We sure have fun when we are out though...

Sorry a little bit of picture overload I just loved all the funny faces!

More outside fun...

Kaden loves to be outside we went to a park tonight that had the playground and splashpad it was a lot of fun...

Summer...yeah!

Thanks for your help and suggestions with names...it really does help! Last night we were going to go camping but the long drive and being nine months pregnant in a tent with a restless toddler didn't sound like very much fun. We have so many awesome parks around we decided to go to one that has a playground, pond and fire pit (yeah right in the middle of a neighborhood...kind of crazy!) to spend the evening. We made tin foil dinners and smores. It was fun but with a toddler, a fire and a pond things were less than relaxing...that is until one of the turtles emerged from the pond, three ducks started chasing Kaden and we had a choir of bull frogs croaking. Wish I would have had my camera close for the duck action but we got some pics with the frightened turtle!

Don't worry the white stuff all over his hands, face and shirt is just marshmallows from the smores!

Oh I love the summer time...

One more month!!!

So it is starting to look like I am counting down the years, months, days of my life. Really that is not the case. It is just so exciting to me when I meet milestones and after 9 months of pregnancy that is a milestone. They set up my induction date today...so in a month we will have a family of four, crazy!!! With Kaden we knew all during the pregnancy what his name would be we just disagreed on the spelling. With this baby we have had five or so names on a list and have slowly been trying to decide on just one! We were thinking Scott or Christopher for the middle name we finally decided this one will have the middle name Scott and the next boy will have the middle name Christopher. I wanted Stuart for the first name Chris said no (along with about 3 other names that he has told me no to!). So here is the list of the top three names we like, however with each name there is something we don't like about it so I would like to hear anyone's and everyones suggestions, comments, likes, dislikes. I have been asking everyone everywhere I go I am sure they all think I am a crazy pregnant lady. Here are the names (no particular order).

Austin Scott
Beckham Scott
Bentley Scott

If you don't like any of them let me know. I don't know if I should tell you why we would choose not to name him each one of these names or if it would sway your opinion, maybe in a latter post. ANY help would be appreciated!

One year down!

Yeah Chris is finally done with finals. This past month has been rough, I think we have been in the same city for a total of 5 days over the past four weeks! I can't wait to pick him up from the airport and then do nothing or anything!!! We are so proud of Chris, the first and (hopefully) worst year is done! CONGRATULATIONS!
